Volume³ on ARJES Shredder: Reliably Tracking Throughput

This makes the system particularly well-suited for demanding conditions such as dust, moisture, vibrations, and highly variable material flows. Measurements remain reliable even with abrasive construction debris, moist biomass, irregularly shaped wood, or light commercial waste.
Detecting Production and Downtime
In conjunction with the belt speed, Volumen³ calculates the current volumetric flow rate. This allows operators to identify:
* the current throughput,
* the production volume per shift or job,
* performance differences among various materials,
* uneven feeding,
* production interruptions and downtime.
Depending on the model and configuration, ARJES twin-shaft shredders process, among other things, natural and waste wood, tree stumps, green waste, biomass, commercial waste, paper, cardboard, rubber, scrap tires, and construction and demolition materials.
The Lasertronik Volumen³ measurement system shows exactly how much material the shredder is actually processing. It continuously measures the material volume and throughput directly at the discharge conveyor belt without affecting the shredding process.
Non-contact laser measurement
Volumen³ optically measures the material profile across the width of the conveyor belt. Unlike traditional belt scales, no weighing rollers or load cells are required. The measuring unit has no direct contact with the conveyor belt or the material.
The measurement data show how material type, tool shafts, counter screens, and machine settings affect the shredder’s performance.
Basis for Cost Estimation and Billing
The recorded quantities can be used for shift reports, performance reports, job cost estimates, and billing. This allows machine, labor, fuel, and wear-and-tear costs to be more accurately allocated to the actual quantity produced.
For contract shredding services, both the client and the contractor receive a transparent data foundation, rather than having to estimate quantities based solely on operating hours or empirical values.
Easy to retrofit
The measuring unit is mounted on the discharge conveyor belt, while the evaluation unit is installed in a protected location. No extensive modification of the conveyor belt is required.
Volumen³ can be retrofitted to existing mobile or stationary ARJES shredders and transferred to another system as needed.
Volumen³ reveals the actual performance of your ARJES shredder.
